Nina Tryggvason – Donation to Vancouver City Queer Archives

1 4 drawer craft cupboard with Angles and Xtra West, Girlfriends Magazine and from Little Sister’s Lezzie Smut; and other publications from the 1990s with articles and photos by Nina Tryggvason. Miscellany items from the era as well.

2. Photographs, photos, negatives and cds containing images from the queer scene, and nina’s private life including childhood albums.

3. Unproduced Film Scripts and Unpubished Manuscripts for the three day novel contest, including “Coffee” which placed at the National Film Board/BC Film/Telefilm contest in the 1990s.

The high school Choices Computer in 1980 told me to be a movie producer or prime minister.

4. Books in three categories: queer pop culture, history and literature; film books and manuals, and books personal to me from childhood.

5. Music, Movies and TV– Elvis Presley, kd lang, Melissa Etheridge, Two Nice Girls, Ferron and many more from the era and my early influences (Elvis was bisexual), some music was live recorded by me – Two Nice Girls on their final tour, most commerical releases and some audio cassettes from my Simon Fraser Student Radio show.

Pop Culture material – Xena, Buffy and L Word and other 90s culture and the queer history that emerged in that decade when queer stopped being what decadent white people did; and we were everywhere. L Word, Last Call at Maud’s Forbidden Love and more. But also Lisa Smedman, lesbian sf writer and several autographed or bought from writer books at conservancy readings at Josephines and other Dykecouver locations.

7. I box of Federal Government career items. RCMP forage cap, coffee cups and workshop communication binders.
