Cult Movies: Somewhere In Time

Somewhere in Time is THE romance movie for utterly hopeless romantics.

Jane Seymour off of the movies and tv show Battlestar Galactica and Christopher Reeve – Superman.

Well, he’s a Playwright who travels back in time a century for the woman of his dreams – a theatre actress.

The movie did not do well in the theatre. It is the first movie I cried during. I was 12.

I had no idea then that the movie was based on a book by prolific scifi writer Richard Matheson, although I did try to order the book at a bookstore. They never ordered it it wasn’t an era that children were considered customers, even when cash in hand.

Like Rocky Horror Picture Show – a fan following grew over this movie and there has been a long time club with conferences who meet at the hotel location.

I wonder if Jane Seymour could be convinced to play the Older Character and do a special edit with her or would fans freak the way the Star Wars ones did.
