January 8, 1035: Elvis was born and Jesse, was stillborn.
For his 11th birthday, Elvis famously was talked into a guitar away from the gun he wanted.
As a child in Tupelo, he hung out at WELO Tupelo and sang Old Shep on the Missippie Slim show on Sundays. He placed 5th in the child talent contest at the Tupelo Fair that he returned to for a homecoming concert.
This day is probably one of his most documented and looking at the daily elvis,it’s telling that in his 20s and 30s, there were parties but the last few years were very low key and included movies more than people.
a pattern that I realize is far too familiar
my birthday is Jan 19. I share it with Dolly Parton and Janis Joplin
