Beau Bridges played Col Tom Parker in a biopic more on the Col than the King:
It’s the only one that has any sort of sympathetic window on the Col, and the tiny bit about his infamous passion for elephants is here – it’s be interesting to see one where his Dutch formative years included – something that Elvis Presley had no idea about and would have fired Parker for lying to him at that kind of level – Elvis knew he was a con artist but he thought he was a fellow southerner who could get one over the Yankees, eh?
Parker had Elvis completely snowed and Elvis was content to coast and not take charge of his career or learn about the film industry he wanted to be a part of.
Beau also played Nixon and woulda been a better choice for the upcoming Elvis/Nixon movie…. I shudder to think how they will do it compared to the indie biopic.
OR
Randy Quaid played Col Parker in the 2 part miniseries.
More recently: Randy Quaid is escorted from an Immigration and Refugee Board hearing in Vancouver after claiming asylum. Star Killers… um.. okay……
Col Tom Parker was the first to receive Elvis stamps during a first day the stamps went on sale at the Las Vegas Hilton on 1-8-93. jeff scheid
