Real and Virtual Life meet in Court

An outing to the bank to do business.

“You could do that on-line” the clerk said, downloading her job to the customer.

“America ended privacy on the internet yesterday.” I replied.

The bank software could not accept the once a month transaction, because the last date of the month varied from 31, 30, 28 and every 4 years, also 29.

A second teller was called on a consult.

“It’s a software limitation, something computers can’t do.” I muttered, and then cleared my throat and said “Put it for the 1st then.”

they looked at me, blinking in unison.

“That does solve it” said the older of the pair.

to justify why she accessed my account as she did

slips of paper for transactions used to be located at the front of banks, people writing down what they wanted done to their accounts, the financial paperwork kept on file

replaced with data base entry

so…

given that ISP can now sell their client profiles, why are we paying to give them packaged data to sell?
