An early day today, up at 6 am to attend at Royal Colombian; my Dad had a procedure.
We – my Mom and I – tried to get breakfast at the cafeteria and despite having warming bins of breakfast foods, they would not serve for 15 more minutes – by which time that food would be inedible.
Hospital food is insult enough without having to also wait for it.
headed back to the elevator where a Creepy Old White Man left the elevator and walked to stop right in front of me. When I tried to side step him, he moved to block me.
I stopped and he shifted back and forth actually blocking me, so I side stepped agressively around him and for full measure loudly said “Asshole.”
I had no idea what fucked up high school antic he was doing, the only explaination was trying to make me shift so my boobs would move, given where his geezer eyes were looking. Harmless old men, seriously, ever see Benny Hill?
Anyway, we went back to the 3rd floor and then home for a couple of hours.
so a rare 2 outing day – my Mom and I headed back so she could have the at home training session and when we pulled into the hospital lot some other White Man had parked across both the handicapped space – and he had no decal – which is not the point – 2 spaces.
He musta sensed the hole my eyes were burning in his head, because he got in his car and moved out of the spaces. so I could park close for my Mom to walk in and both Parents to walk out.
We got to the floor and my Mom had her session and I sat in the family room, with my pink hoodie over my face.
My Dad got released sooner than we expected and we headed to the elevator.
At one point, a staff garbed person complained about the elevators being slow (only 4 floors) and I said this was way better than St. Paul’s Downtown. A short discussion of the building being historic or a tear-down and it being the only walk in clinic for the downtown homeless.
out of the building, I saw a vehicle illegally parked at the sidewalk to the emergency entrance who was also directly blocking my vehicle in the first handicap stall #200.
A Hospital Staffer took delivery of three pizzas and a cardboard box and walked by me to enter the hospital.
I stared pointed at yet another Old White Guy who was under the delusion that pizza delivery falls under the use of hazard lights as if that prevents the car from being one.
I opened the back of my vehicle so I could put my Mom’s walker in and when I finished, that asshole was just sitting in his car. I gave him a don’t make me knock on your window look and he drove off before I got into my vehicle. Seriously what is wrong with people?
after the hospital, it was to Ikea for lunch – it has it’s own maze of elevators and escalators designed to deliver one deeper into the 2 floor concrete box store.
The cafeteria was full and it was the first day of spring break, so there was children, half sized humans that are twice as loud with balloon animals or balloon hats.
Three orders of meatball special with gravy – but one beef, one chicken and one vegetarian.
The meat ones were overcrisp on the outside and dry inside, the first sub-par meal at Ikea.
The Daim cake slice that we three shared was a nice taste and a third of a portion ample enough.
Then, down the foggy freeway – and I became disoriented in the 152 turn off a sort of Golden Pond moment where I couldn’t place where I was – and it was driving. so a deep breath and I was on 152, but in the wrong lane.
So rather than risk a traffic thing, I continued on a couple more blocks and did a turn down some side streets and deked* through the Guildford library/community centre to get back to course.
Healthcare, can’t pursuit happiness without it and it shouldn’t cost your house, eh .
- deke, to deke is a canadian phrase to mean a sudden turn in direction
there’s a song that I get earwormed now and then “fly down the highway, deke down the alleyway” I think it’s Simon and Garfunkel.
I’m not sure what you’re ranting about, but the proposal from the NDP includes blocking donations from unions as well as corporations. That is a very good thing for private citizens no matter who is in power.
because it can be done, now, not reviewed in a non-binding process, it’s smoke and mirrors and time to remember that the BC Libs are the former social credit.
Then we agree absolutely.
thank you. government pretending to need to referendum or defer to courts is a cop-out.
“Affordable Care Act revision would reduce insured numbers by 24 million, CBO projects”
“The analysis, released late Monday afternoon by the Congressional Budget Office, predicts that 24 million fewer people would have coverage a decade from now than if the Affordable Care Act remains intact, nearly doubling the share of Americans who are uninsured from 10 percent to 19 percent. The office projects the number of uninsured people would jump 14 million after the first year
But the GOP legislation, which has been speeding through House committees since it was introduced a week ago, would lower the deficit by $337 billion during that time, primarily by lessening spending on Medicaid and government aid for people buying health plans on their own.
The report predicted that premiums would be 15 percent to 20 percent higher in the first year compared with those under the Affordable Care Act but 10 percent lower on average after 2026. By and large, older Americans would pay “substantially” more and younger Americans less.
The 37-page report provides the most tangible evidence to date of the human and fiscal impact of the House GOP’s American Health Care Act. It also undermines President Trump’s pledge that no Americans would lose coverage under a Republican remake of the Affordable Care Act, which was enacted by a Democratic Congress in 2010.”
Extreme Wrong Wingers are nasty: “Why does everyone keep making Nazi comparisons?”
“The answer, according to America’s Anti-Defamation League (ADL), is simply that it is the “most available historical event illustrating right versus wrong.”
When an argument descends to such fundamentals, the comparison inevitably turns up.”
