Today was a very exhausting outing and although nothing untoward happened, I just feel end of the rope, against the wall zonked.
Part of it was driving over the Patullo Bridge, from which commercial trucks really must be prohibited – it is not legal to drive down the centre of 2 lanes and newer bridges were built for them and roads too, eh.
I dropped my Mom at the medical building and then parked at the New Westminster Mall, where I did three laps at a moderate pace.
I tried the upper mall, which is all medical services with stores below. Only Walmart on both floors.
The air was drier and hotter and I didn’t manage even a half lap, I took the next escalator down.
I tried the new sriracha bacon n egger at the A&W – total recommend.
I got my order and an elderly woman customer after me thanked the A&W for doing all day breakfast.
“Canadians are Hobbits” I said. She was confused, but the staff got it.
Then, I waited outside the mall and met my Mom at the ground level, into the parking lot and out of the mall.
From that downtown core, through the older part Sapperton, where I grew up. Sappers worked the railroad and it was where the workers were housed. Sapper’s Town become Sapperton, as we tend to swallow sounds in phrases to word them in English.
Passed Humes Park and the perennial roadside memorial at the footbridge and into Burnaby/Langley.
Lunch at Jimmy’s Place Restaurant, where only today did I notice they also do eggs benny.
Second medical appointment over and back to Surrey, over the illegally tolled Port Mann Replacement Bridge to the Grocery Story with the pharmacy.
Almost 6 hours in total, over my limit with wide ranging locations. Calling it a successful one on the balance.
stop foriegn donors and we’ve seen this dog n pony show before.Think of the Teachers and Nurses, eh.
There’s nothing binding about Christy Clark’s donations panel: In the wake of BC Liberals’ political-funding scandal, recommendations from an independent panel could very well be nothing more than a convenient diversionThere’s nothing binding about Christy Clark’s donations paneltheglobeandmail.com
BC needs the Chilliwack base restaffed for emergency preparedness. But Canada has done our part in being cannon fodder in other nation’s wars.
