pretending that things are normal

I fear the phone ring

I have not been able to answer a phone for years

 

even with caller ID

 

I do not recognize the strings of numbers

 

 

but

 

today and yesterday

 

I answered the phone

 

having caller ID and both were relatives

 

so two days in a row

 

I answered the phone

and talked to relatives
