True Tales of Downtown LunchRooms
I had to take insulin before eating, so I would get my food, calculate for the meal and inject, then enjoy my meal.
I was sitting on the back wall, and it was later in the lunch time zone, so most of the eating area was empty – I had the whole row to myself.
There was a man at a table for four and a woman at the stool/bar side of the room.
She left hurriedly, but I didn’t think anything of it until the security guard came running.

Suddenly cold and realizing, he was looking for a junkie shooting up.

The security guard shifted from one foot to the other and I returned to reading.
