Canada vs China: humans rights

Canada’s Indian Act overseeing the reservation system was copied by South Africa for Apartheid, which they no longer do.

Canada had the Chinese Head Tax, the Ukrainian and Japanese internment camps, other desperate refugee failures, the Indian Residential Schools, and laws against gays and lesbians.

Until 1985, with the new charter of rights, Canada made a global contribution and new nations are basing their own foundational documents on Canada.

Canada is a much younger nation than China, and is in fact a former colony of the Commonwealth the UK which at it’s peak, included Canada, most of the USA, Australia and New Zealand as well as India. It was trying to hang on in India that the UK had to let America nation.

So really, for a nation just 1 year younger than Street lamps, we’re not doing too bad.

We have not really actually invaded anyone, we haven’t annexed anyone either and we mostly do ride along with the Brits and the USA, we midwifed the League of Nations and that morphed into NATO and eventually to the UN.
