Elvira: Mistress of the Dark – Cassandra Peterson was a Vegas Showgirl and she met Elvis Presley.

Elvira's Date with Elvis: "There Was a Lot of Making Out" - WhereAreTheyNow.Buzz

Cassandra Peters was a Las Vegas Show Girl and Elvis told her his best advice: Get out of Vegas.

So she did, straight onto cable tv hosting 1950s B and C and catezory Z movies because it was after midnight and really right.

Elvira Mistress of the Dark – a play on Elvis’ name

and when she got to make her own movie as her character, it was all a quest to get to vegas and in the middle of the movie

she wakes up from a nightmare in full make up, her Vampira Hair wrapped up like a mummy and she’s wearing Elvis on her t-shirt.

My Sister and I saw that move in the theatre in the 1980s in Canada.

now, in Canada, people actually do sit quietly and do not talk to the screen or their group of friends.

laughter together as a mixed group of people is how we learn each other”s sense of humour.

My Sister and I laughed first and the rest of the audience started laughing at Elvira on screen

but some started laughing because me and my sister explained the Elvis refernce, sort of like Pop Up Video

and so the people who weren;t laughing at the movie, laughed at the inside information of the sight gag.

the movie became funnier because then, everyone else lightened up and stopped taking a comedy seriously.

People forget that there are many levels – and as much as everyone famous is 6 degrees of Kevin Bacon…

Degrees from Elvis is a lot wider…
