Religious Harm: The Paris Edition

France, Paris – over 100 – 140 people murdered at a Concert Hall and in restaurants in a co-ordinated multi site attack on Civilization.

Attack sites:

  • Bataclan concert venue, 50 boulevard Voltaire, 11th district – hostages held
  • Le Carillon, 18 rue Alibert, 10th district – gun attack
  • Le Petit Cambodge, 20 rue Alibert, 10th district – gun attack
  • La Belle Equipe, 92 rue de Charonne, 11th district – gun attack
  • Near Stade de France, St Denis, just north of Paris – reported suicide attack near venue as France v Germany football match played

a lone gunman shooting strangers in the public square is a hate crime while a group of them is terrorism

a lone person or a group motivated by ideology is terrorism

when the attack is on anyone in the public square, it’s terrorism

when it’s people from one demographic, it’s a hate crime

there is a nuance and legality level that is elusive to me,

but whether it’s a religious group terrorizing civilization or  an individual/group targeting a demographic – terror is a result and that people would stand by is a whole other level of salt in wound horror.

mostly anyone who can’t see the obvious harm of religion, is benefiting or engaged in it.
