current marketing continues to use and abuse Elvis
no. garth has NEVER passed Elvis.
for elvis you cannot limit and compare just one market
Michael Hall Almost everyone I meet has purchased an Elvis record or CD sometime in their life, however, very few people have a Garth Brooks Cd in their collection.
Nina K Tryggvason this is a market ploy for his current album.
they are selecting data and using the rules against Elvis to prop up a current artist
also. RCA and Sony never did track their sales internationally in order to not have to fully pay Elvis or his estate
Mark Russell Garth brooks is as near to beating Elvis as I am to walking to the moon

Pirate Cove – The Hound Dog Album
When I read that Elvis did 23 takes of Hound Dog before picking which would be the release version, I used to imagine what it would be like to have a whole LP of that.
Listening to him work through the song -and then have the special tv performances of it as well.Funny, when I think of Garth Brooks, I think of a country boy who’s fans were there to see his lesbian sister playing guitar and who almost sank his career by switching to rock as Chris Gains.Something about authenticity and transcending genre is what Elvis was about.
