CanCon: The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald

Edmund Fitzgerald

During the late afternoon on Nov. 10, 1975, there was a sever winter storm on Lake Superior, one of the Great Lakes between the U.S. and Canada.

A ship carrying iron ore was en route to Detroit, MI from Superior, WI. The ship was caught in the storm and was never heard from again. 29 people lost their lives when the ship went down.

Gordon Lightfoot had a hit record when he sang about the incident that happened 38 years ago today.

The name of the ship was the “Edmund Fitzgerald”. It is a true story.
