Nina Reads! Spit Delaney’s Island

Spit Delaneys Island

Vancouver Island writer Jack Hodgins’ classic Canadian Novel. Well collection of sort stories about unique people on Vancouver Island who are interconnected indirectly.

I think my fave part was the American tourists blighting the landscape with gum wrappers, but my hopeless romantic side was always drawn to the story of the lone woman and the painter.

but this part of Spit withdrawing into his memory aided by the tape recorder

we exist where we most reside

not always where our bodies are
