Never felt more like singing the blues

When I was organizing my first script reading, because the story was set at a convention, I wanted to give the convention feel to the audience – who was not a geek audience.

So, when they arrived at the Brickhouse, they got to sign in and meet the “ConGuest” Lisa Smedman who was selling her books.

Golden Age Collective Comics let me bring some of their stock and I played being a comic book dealer and actually made a sale for them. They were impressed when I returned the unsold merchandise and the cash the next day.

But also, I called Cheapass Games in Seattle and they gave me several of their games to give in a goody bag to the audience.

They received a game, some candy, information about the cast and my screenplay brochure.

It;’s been fun watching that company grow to including fancier box sets and common game pieces to span their games.
